Woodhorn Museum is open, but please note some of our original colliery buildings are closed due to the Pit Yard area being covered in thick ice. This makes areas of the Pit Yard slippery and dangerous and we have made the decision to leave them closed until the weather improves. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused, but please ask staff for information on the buildings and their history. We have ensured other pathways are well gritted and fully accessible, so you can enjoy exploring the cutter building, stable block and Café as normal.
