To reserve a loan box, please contact learning@museumsnorthumberland.org.uk stating the loan box you would like to reserve, where you would like to collect/drop off the loan box, and the date you would like to reserve the loan box from.

Berwick Seaside
Explore the Berwick seaside, find out about marine vessels and investigate floating and sinking. Includes a selection of shells, toy animals and books as well as a copy of L.S. Lowry’s painting ‘Beach Scene’ which is thought to be of Spittal, Berwick.

Hexham Riot
Explore storytelling by young people from Queen’s Hall Arts’ Projectors Theatre Group inspired by the 1761 Hexham Riot.

It contains a selection of engineering books, hard hats, child size high vis jackets, and a variety of resources for hands-on learning
The Our Bodies loan box is suitable for KS1/KS2 and is available from Woodhorn Museum.
It contains a variety of model body parts, including a model human torso. A selection of books and x-rays are also included.
The Making and Building loan box is suitable for Early Years and KS1 or First level pupils and is available from Berwick Museum and Art Gallery.
It contains children’s hi-vis vests, hard hats, and wooden tools. Take the bag of squashy rocks into the sand pit – you can use wet sand as ‘cement’.
The River Tweed loan box is suitable for Early Years and KS1 or First level pupils and is available from Berwick Museum and Art Gallery.
It contains children’s magnifying view pots, binoculars, magnifying glasses, river plush toys / puppets, archive salmon fishing pictures, and a selection of books.

It contains a class set of K’NEX “Simple Machines” and a selection of inventions-themed books.

It contains a 8 VU+ data loggers, 16 external temperature probes, a charging station, and the VU handbook of experiments.
The Medieval Medicine loan box is suitable for KS2 or older First and younger Second level pupils and is available from Berwick Museum and Art Gallery.
It contains medieval friar costumes, wooden pestle and mortars, wooden mixing bowls and spoons, pretend leeches, character cards and herbal medicine sheets.
