Woodhorn Museum wins Bronze at the annual North East England Tourism Awards

We’re delighted to announce Woodhorn Museum has received a Bronze Award at the annual North East England Tourism Awards in the Small Visitor Attraction category.

Woodhorn Museum joined the region’s top tourism businesses at Newcastle Civic Centre for the prestigious awards ceremony on Thursday 24 March. Attractions, hotels and individuals from across the North East are acknowledged across 15 different categories.

Everyone at Museums Northumberland was delighted to see Woodhorn Museum shortlisted in the Small Visitor Attraction of the Year category alongside Kielder Observatory and Ushaw: Historic House, Chapels and Gardens.

Rowan Brown, chief executive at Museums Northumberland, said: “I am over the moon that Woodhorn Museum has been awarded Bronze Award in the Small Visitor Attraction of the Year category at the North East England Tourism Awards.

“It is testament to the brilliant team we have at Woodhorn, and it is down to their passion, commitment, and enthusiasm that we were shortlisted alongside such strong competition in this category.

“Over the past two years we have made significant investments in the site to make it more accessible, enabling more people to visit and be inspired by Northumberland’s rich heritage and contemporary culture.”

The award was accepted by members of the team from Museums Northumberland in the awards ceremony last night.
