Fun for all the family, you are sure to be impressed by our displays which include one of the oldest objects in our care, a 70-million-year-old Ichthyosaur.

Fun for adults and children alike, our amazing collections include examples of nature at its finest, many of which were found in digs across Northumberland.
Check out our prehistoric Megalodon teeth and extinct marine reptiles that swam our oceans at the same time as the dinosaurs – as well as a wide range of other interesting fossils.
Our displays include numerous animals including pressed butterflies and a Chillingham Bull head (a species unique to the region), plus geology specimens such as rocks, shells and coral, and an impressive herbarium collection of pressed plants and moss samples.
