Delivered in partnership with over 70 groups and organisations in the area, the programme had a demonstrable positive impact on the wellbeing of local people and levels of social energy and activism within communities, aiming to build a stronger future with people who live in South East Northumberland.
The programme was funded by Arts Council England (via Creative People and Places investment) and Northumberland County Council over ten years, until March 2023. Generous investment from The Ballinger Trust and Garfield Weston Foundation also supported bait projects from 2016 – 2019.
Museums Northumberland was the lead body for a consortium of organisations including Northumberland County Council (Culture and Public Health), Northumberland College, Northumberland Community Voluntary Action and Queens Hall Arts.
Museums Northumberland bait was one of the first Creative People and Places programmes in England, and from 2014 – 2022 also led on delivery of the Creative People and Places National Peer Learning Programme.
