‘A Hexham Miscellany’ is an immersive cabinet of curiosity created by illustrator Jonny Hannah for Hexham Old Gaol. A giant Hexham Tan points the way for visitors to find this new exhibition of Hannah’s paintings, prints and cut-outs which celebrate Hexham’s unique folk tales and local heroes. Hannah’s miscellany brings history to life through visual storytelling. Discover characters ranging from a misfortunate quiltmaker to a mysterious cycling photographer. And don’t forget to watch out for the Allendale Wolf!
‘A Hexham Miscellany’ is part of ‘Northumberland Folk’, a series of four distinct yet connected exhibitions across Museums Northumberland created by award-winning illustrator Jonny Hannah.
