We need your help to add to and grow our digital map with your knowledge, stories, images, suggestions and interest.

The Our Past, Your Future project are wanting to collaborate with you, our audience, to create and continually add to our interactive digital map which celebrates the unique history of industry and innovation in our region.

We need your help to make sure the map highlights more stories of the many great and diverse people, places and objects of Northumberland, Newcastle and North Tyneside that relate the incredibly rich history of science and technology, industry and innovation in the area, from pre-history to the present day.

We invite you to research and share your local knowledge, images, videos and memories to add to and enrich our STEM heritage map.

If you want to add to and embellish the entry for a person, site or object already on the map, you can go to that relevant page and fill out the form at the bottom of that page. You may want to add:

  • Personal memories, stories and social history
  • Photos – new or old
  • Videos or Audio
  • Further information about the person, site or object
  • Links to further useful online resources

If you want to suggest further entries for inclusion on the map or research and write the text for a new person, site or object to be added, then please review our Writing Guide (PDF) and fill out the form below.

Your contributions will help us to inspire the next generation of innovators in the fields of science, industry and technology. Thank you!
