Teacher CPD

Staff in our project schools will receive CPD sessions related to local heritage and STEM careers which are delivered in collaboration with our project partners at Historic England and NUSTEM.

Heritage CPD

Our heritage CPD is delivered in collaboration with Historic England. Partner schools have the opportunity to gain the Historic England Heritage Schools Award. The CPD includes sessions on embedding local heritage in the curriculum and the use of maps and aerial photography.

Heritage Forum

Partner schools are also invited to join in our Heritage Forum which runs half termly and supports teachers with their work towards the Heritage Schools Award.

STEM CPD

There are two STEM CPD sessions included as part of the project which are delivered by our project partners NUSTEM. This includes a session on ‘Unconscious Bias in the Classroom’ and on on how to use their STEM careers tool and embed STEM careers into lessons.

STEM Forum

As part of the project participants are also invited to our half termly STEM forum which operates as a space for teachers to share resources and examples of best practice. It is open to teachers at participating school who would like to join us and discuss STEM.

A typical session might include:

  • Project updates, opportunities for feedback on the project and to make suggestions for future content
  • “Sharing STEM” a show and tell type sharing of favourite resources, projects or other things
  • An activity you could do with your class linked to the season or an upcoming event (e.g. Space Week)
  • Occasional guest speakers or a more detailed look at an aspect of the STEM curriculum and possible heritage or careers links

Below are some of subject resources gathered for teachers. These documents may include links to external resources and organisations as well as resources we have developed ourselves. Please note we cannot control the content of external links and always recommend reviewing them to check for suitability before sharing them with your students.
