Another person to contact me out of the blue was Jackie, a retired teacher from Blanchland. Jackie sent me a great poem, about the blackguard Bortie, the Bad baron.

Then there were more stories, like going camping to Muggleswick Forest, just over in County Durham, where all the girls were told to bring a can of soup, minus the label, which were then all mixed together over an open fire for a delicious evening meal.

Jackie also lent me books of poetry by Richard Haswell, whose character Geordie Broon, got up to all sorts.

But every part of inspiration that Jackie sent my way, has been celebratory & positive.

And that’s just the way it should be…
