Museums Northumberland presents ‘Northumberland Folk’, a series of four new exhibitions by illustrator Jonny Hannah with most of the artworks in the exhibitions for sale.

The exhibition runs until the 31st of October and we will be in touch about when you will be able to collect your purchase (shipping is not included in the price but we can provide courier contacts for you to arrange independently). We will be able to give you more detail of exact dates nearer the time but collection dates will likely be before December 2021.

Not long before the first lockdown, I spent an afternoon at HMP Northumberland, getting stories from the residents. One task I set them was to tell me about an inspirational character they’d encountered.

One resident, promptly set about writing & drawing a man from the Princes Trust who urged him to ‘seize everything life has to offer’. I didn’t ask him his name, & after the workshop was over I tried to find out, but it remains a mystery.

So the creator of this wonderful, bold drawing of the wise man will remain a mystery… unless of course, one of you know?…
