THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED.
As part of the Heritage Open Days, Museums Northumberland are offering free tours of the House of Correction during the HOD weekends.
This remarkable building is usually closed to the public and has a very interesting (and rather grim) history. Have a look around, find out more about the poor inmates’ daily chores and their bleak diet.
The tours are free of charge but because of very limited numbers booking is essential. Please call us on 01670 624523 to book your space.
The tours will start at 2pm from Hexham Old Gaol and involve a 15 minute walk to the House of Correction.
