Illuminated Sheep

Special event

Fri 14th October – Sun 16th October, Woodhorn Museum

Until 8pm Included in Annual Pass

Illuminated Sheep flock to Woodhorn Museum to celebrate the arrival of the Lindisfarne Gospels in the North East this autumn.

A brand new visual arts trail will light up Woodhorn Museum to celebrate the arrival of the Lindisfarne Gospels in the North East this autumn.

Illuminated Sheep by Deepa Mann-Kler is inspired by the Gospels’ themes of light, sheep and pilgrimage, and will see a flock of life-sized sheep lit up in bright colours at some of the region’s most iconic locations including Bamburgh Castle, Vindolanda
and Woodhorn Museum.

We are delighted to be hosting the Illuminated Sheep flock at Woodhorn Museum. You can see the full flock lit up here on Friday 14th – Sunday 16th October.

The sheep will be illuminated as the sun sets at Woodhorn Museum (approximately 6.10pm) and the museum will stay open late until 8pm to see the stunning light installation.

Keep your eyes peeled as you explore the museum. One of our sheep has been separated from the flock and is lost in the museum. Please help us find it.

Check out the FAQs about this event at the bottom of this page.

Illuminated Sheep is included in your Annual Pass admission. You can buy your Annual Pass online or on the gate when you visit Illuminated Sheep. Pay once and enjoy unlimited repeat visits to Woodhorn Museum for 12 months.
