During the School Summer Holidays, there will be drop in, family friendly activities every day between 1pm and 3pm at Berwick Museum and Art Gallery.
The programme of activities are all inspired by The Ord Cross exhibition and will rotate throughout the holidays.
Activities will include:
Runic Codebreakers
Become a runic codebreaker and work out how to spell your own name in runes!
Visit the Ord Cross gallery to find out about the runic alphabet, and to see the runes etched into the golden Anglo-Saxon ‘Ord Cross’ itself. Scratch your own name or initials into the surface of your card in runes. You could add a pattern, border or drawing to your design.
Younger kids can simply enjoy decorating the surface of their card in these family friendly craft sessions.
Make an Ord Cross
Make a mould out of clay, cast your cross in plaster and etch your name in Anglo-Saxon Runes.
These activities are included with your Annual Pass admission where kids go free. Donations welcome.
