1pm-3pm
During the School Summer Holidays, there will be drop in, family friendly activities every day between 1pm and 3pm at Hexham Old Gaol.
The programme of activities are inspired by history of the Gaol and will rotate throughout the holidays.
Activities will include:
Scratch Art Bookmark
Make your own scratch art bookmark in these family friendly craft sessions at Hexham Old Gaol.
Have a look around the museum, there are all sort of things on display that might help inspire your bookmark design. You could draw a picture, make patterns or write your name as part of your design.
Make your own Mini Mangonel
A Mangonel was a type of catapult, first built by the Romans more than 2,000 years ago. They were made from wooden frames and whilst weren’t very accurate they were good for flinging rocks at castle walls!
Our mangonels will be made from plastic spoons and paper cups. Take it to our ‘firing range’ and see how effective your mangonel is!
A friendly member of staff will be on hand to help.
These activities are included with your Annual Pass admission where kids go free. Donations welcome.
