Set in our stunning heritage Tanky Engine Shed, this immersive art installation will shift with the seasons through Autumn, Winter and Spring. Come along to help artist Bethan Maddocks transform the space, add your own artwork to the installation and create a magical tree-scape, inspired by the carboniferous forest of long ago.
Let Go as The Fallen Forest opens in Autumn and the nights begin to draw in. Use simple paper craft techniques to fold, shape and decorate your own sculptural autumnal leaf (27th October 2018 – 25th November 2018).
Glow in deep winter as The Fallen Forest lights up to magical effect. Create and decorate your own gem-like form, add a small light, and watch your gem glow bright with the light of the forest (1st December 2018 – 10th Feb 2019).
Grow in springtime, and add your own artwork inspired by buds, seeds and sprouting ferns as The Fallen Forest bursts into new growth for the new year ahead (16th February 2019 – 22nd April 2019).
The Fallen Forest is part of Coal Forest, our winter season 2018/19 at Woodhorn Museum.
