Wild Wednesdays: Wild Weather

Every Wednesday of the Northumberland School Holidays, join our Learning Team and take part in these free, family friendly activities throughout the day.

Wild Weather (Wednesday 21st and 28th August)

10:30 – 11:30am Seed Planting with the Woodhorn Weeders
Have a go at making a paper plant pot and sow a sunflower seed with the Age UK gardening volunteer group. Drop-in session in the gazebo by the wildlife area next to the Pit Yard Play Area.

11.30am Wild Storytime
Upper Ground of the Cutter Building. Relax and enjoy listening to the dreamy children’s story ‘Little Cloud’ by Anne Booth.

12noon – 3pm Wild Crafts
Upper Ground of the Cutter Building. Get creative and make a Cloud Crown and cloud viewing frame. Drop-in craft session.

12noon – 3pm Bug Watch
Join our Learning Team at the Wildlife area by the Pit Yard Play Area and discover the minibeasts at Woodhorn. Add your own findings to our ‘Discoveries Wall’ and have a go on an aneomometer to find out how windy it is at Woodhorn.

Drop In – no need to pre-book! Children should be supervised by their accompanying adult at all times.

Wild Wednesdays‘ are free as part of our Annual Pass where adults pay once, and kids go free. Donations welcome. You can buy your Annual Pass admission online before your visit or when you arrive at the museum. Please arrive in plenty of time so you don’t miss the start of the activity. 

This activity is supported by the Age UK Volunteer Gardening Group, Northumberland County Council and Arts Council England.
